Events list 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm Hindugrass Saturday, December 19 8:00-10:300 pm Hindugrass John Heitzenrater - sarod with Chris Johnson - tablabr Exploring the commonalities between classical and folk music of North Indian ragas, and the folk and bluegrass styles of the Appalachian tradition. On sarod, John Heitzenrater is a product of the celebrated Maihar-Allaudin Gharana, which traces in lineage to Mian Tansen, court musician of Akbar the Great and the principle progenitor of modern Hindustani classical music. On tabla, Chris Johnson is a student of the Dehli and Lucknow style in the tradition of Taranath Rao and Swapan Chaudhuri. Chris is also a multi-instrumentalist in the Paperhand Puppet Show band.
